Scarab Opal Earrings

$3,200

Carved by a master. Two small, intricately carved Ethiopian opals. These two matching scarabs were hand-fashioned in Australia by a master gemstone carver, and we set them into streamlined bezels with closed backs to warm the orange-green flash of the opals.

Opals were once said to provide a cloak of invisibility if wrapped in a bay leaf and held in the hand. They are known as a stone that brings luck to the wearer. They are the October birthstone.

Made completely by hand in recycled 18k and 22k gold, this is truly a one of a kind pair. Each earring moves independently from its hook on a tiny, hand-carved golden bead. Truly a pair to covet.

Taking Care

Fine jewelry should be treated with care. It is best practice to remove jewelry when coming home, and to put it back on when leaving the house. This can lengthen the life of a piece dramatically, and can lessen the chances of damaging an item.

Opal

To clean at home we recommend scrubbing them with a soft toothbrush and warm, soapy water.

Opals have a hardness of 6.
