Needle Eye Cuff - Opal
A one of a kind cuff with a gorgeous opal. This is one of two opal pieces made in support of a special project with a local gallery. The opals for this project were donated from a large private collection that was accumulated over decades by Bob Grabowski, an esteemed East Bay jeweler. The sale of this piece supports the Silvera Scholarship Fund, benefitting local jewelers.
This particular stone was set from both sides, to highlight the quality and flash of the entire stone. It’s set with staggered prongs on the front and back, and laid into a Needle Eye Cuff. Because this opal was mined decades ago, it is considered to be ultra stable. It's set in an open setting so that both sides can be viewed when the cuff is open.
Completely handmade and set in our San Francisco Studio. All of our Needle Eye Cuffs feature a streamlined design with a satisfying latch mechanism.

Taking Care
Fine jewelry should be treated with care. It is best practice to remove jewelry when coming home, and to put it back on when leaving the house. This can lengthen the life of a piece dramatically, and can lessen the chances of damaging an item.
Diamonds
Translucent stones with closed backings should not be submerged in water, and should not come into contact with lotions, oils, or creams. Clear diamonds are especially susceptible to this because of their beautiful translucency and subtle marbling. To clean we recommend a dry, soft toothbrush.
Diamonds have a hardness of 10.
